My Story

Been through it all...

6'5" and 160 pounds as a senior in high school. I was athletic — played basketball my whole life — but I was rail thin. I couldn't put on size no matter what I tried. Friends roasted me. Family told me I needed to eat more. I heard it so many times I started believing my body just wasn't built to carry muscle.

That frustration pushed me into the gym. I put on 40+ pounds and finally had the body I wanted. But then life shifted — college, partying, fast food at 2AM, skipping meals or eating junk. I ballooned up to 220 and lost every bit of definition I'd built.

That's when I learned the real lesson: building the body is only half the battle. Keeping it — through life, through chaos, through discipline fatigue — that's the other half. I stripped it all back, dialed in my system, and cut from 220 to 200 lean. No crash diet. No extreme cardio. Just precision. And that's exactly what I coach my clients through.

But here's what nobody talks about — the real breakthrough wasn't a meal plan or a new split. It was metaphysical. I tapped into something deeper than discipline, something most lifters never access. A mindset shift that rewired how I trained, recovered, and showed up. That's what took me from results I was proud of to results I didn't even know were possible.

Phase 01 — The Starting Point

I was the skinny guy.

6'5" and 160 pounds. Rail thin. I played basketball my whole life but couldn't put on size no matter what I tried. Friends roasted me. Family told me to eat more. I started believing my body just wasn't built to carry muscle.

This photo is the reality most coaches would never show you. But this is where it started — and it's exactly why I understand what it feels like to look in the mirror and feel like your body is working against you.

Phase 02 — The Fall Off

Then I ballooned up.

After years of grinding in the gym, I fell off. Hard. Partying, late nights, fast food, zero structure. I told myself I'd earned a break — but that break turned into months. I went from built to bloated. 220 pounds with none of the definition I'd worked for. I looked in the mirror and didn't recognize the discipline I used to have.

Even through all of that, I was still in decent shape — because I was still going to the gym. Not as consistently, but when I showed up, I pushed myself hard. That's just who I am. The gym has always been an outlet for me. It wasn't always fun, but it was necessary. A place to put the noise, the frustration, everything I didn't have words for. That thread never broke — even when everything else did.

That was the wake-up call. Not the weight itself — but the realization that without a system, even years of work can unravel in weeks.
